The only issue I hit is that King of the Hill is just routinely busted for no clear reason, but, like, that's been true since day 1 and they still haven't fixed it. It's not even a proper KoTH session unless it ends in an inexplicable desynch that kicks every player.
This is achieved by having the players share the whole screen, as is the case in games like Mortal Kombat, or splitting it in two, like you see in Rocket League. You’ll also find local multiplayer games that utilize turn-based mechanics, e.g. one player finishes and the next player jumps in.
